The hot dogs not only get wrapped in bacon but all the smoky goodness of the bacon melts into the hot dogs. Teamed with cheese and grilled onions and it is the ultimate dog.

Ingredients


  • 1 Package Ben’s® Original Hot Dog Buns (8)

    8 jumbo hot dogs

    8 slices bacon

    8 large Vidalia or Sweet onions, thickly sliced into rings

    2 cups (500 mL) shredded aged orange cheddar cheese

Directions


Preheat one side of grill to medium heat. Grease grates well. Wrap each dog with a slice of bacon. Secure with toothpicks. Grill, turning, for 8 to 10 minutes or until bacon is golden and hot dogs are heated through. Remove toothpicks.

Meanwhile, grill onions for 3 to 5 minutes or until lightly charred and tender. Cut in half.

Assemble hot dogs in buns and top each evenly with onions and cheese. Return to grill over medium-low heat. Cover and cook over for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.

If serving for less people, divide accordingly.
